The Georgia Department of Education and the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency are proud to announce that registration for the 2023 Georgia School Safety and Homeland Security Conference is now open. The conference will be held at the Classic Center in Athens, GA on June 19-21.

Registration is $150 and can be found at www.GASchoolSafety.com. Registration is open to school and district administrators, teachers, counselors, social workers, nurses, safety directors, school resource officers and other staff members that play a role in school safety.

Originally started in 2009 as the Safety in our Schools Conference, the Georgia School Safety and Homeland Security Conference has grown to a three-day event with over 700 participants gaining first-hand experience from the state’s education and public safety personnel. The conference is adding important Homeland Security learning opportunities to this year’s lineup such as gang awareness and cyber security.

The deadline for registration is June 4, 2023, to guarantee lunches on the first and third days. A link to special rates for hotels is included on the registration page.
